The human body is a kinetic chain; kinetic meaning motion or movement. Movement can only be successful when the chain works congruously. Whether throwing a baseball, kicking a soccer ball, or hitting a volleyball, all movement begins at the core of the human body. Movement does not only occur in a straight-ahead or side-to-side direction. It is multi-planar requiring multiple muscles to work together to accelerate, decelerate, and stabilize all at the same time. When muscles do not work together there is a greater potential for injury to occur. That is why our training sessions at PowerCore Athletics encompass flexibility, strength, speed, agility, and power. Using these focal points, the muscles will learn how to move optimally allowing for the transition to be made from movement specific training to sport specific training. |
